I’m a self-taught poet, photographer and artist who dreams of living an unfettered Bohemian life.  I plan to use this site for some occasional ranting and navel gazing, but mostly as a vehicle to host my artistic endeavors – my photography, poetry and artwork.  My photography is primarily object or nature based, as most of the people I know absolutely detest having photos taken of them and refuse to cooperate with the camera, even though I take good people pictures.  I write poetry in fits and starts and seem to go for long periods of write-less-ness, and shorter spurts of write-like-my-life-depends-on-it-ness.  Feast or famine.  I seem to have been in the famine state for over a year now.  I did have a good four year run (2000-2004) when I was very seriously, deeply into writing poetry.  I think the intensity of those years may have burned me out.  Time will tell.  My art is a melange of  mixed media, altered art and collage, though I do occasionally stray into assemblage, and my styles range widely from zetti to vintage to surrealism – wherever whimsy takes me. If you’d like to own a piece of my art and help keep me funded for art supplies, please visit my Etsy Store at http://cookalashouseofcards.etsy.com
