when an accident will happen, as the saying goes, and it is so very, very true.
Today I was involved in a hit and run car accident – this jerk just cut across my lane (I was in the right lane, he was in the left) to make it to an exit ramp to the parkway. He never stopped, just kept going. He did a bit of damage to the car, but thank God I’m 0k. I suspect the car might have been stolen, or maybe he didn’t have a license – who knows. Then again maybe the guy is just a total f*#*ing loser.
He hit my car on the driver’s side bumper, front and rear doors. I jammed on my brakes and tried to move to the right to avoid him and I hit the curb and messed up my passenger side front rim and bumper area. What a mess. For one moment I thought the car might roll because I felt it lift and tip, but it didn’t. I’m still shaking and it happened almost 4 hrs ago. And I am so totally pissed. Thank God, only the car got hurt – it could’ve been much, much worse. I can’t even begin to put into words how outraged I am – how can people be so f**^ing uncaring and so unresponsible? I just can’t get my mind around that.
*sigh* and this comes after a horrible day at work, too. It’s been a very, very, very bad day for me today – the boss was out and the server broke down. All day I met with obstacles, aggravation and a lack of assistance with getting the damn server fixed, and I had to work through lunch and left 2 hrs late. Then this hit and run thing happens. Shit. I’ve already got acid indigestion thinking about the aggravation I’m in for with the Insurance people, and the body shop, and having to rent a car and maybe lose time from work. Shit. Shit Shit Shit Shit.
Please, do this for me – meditate on good things to come of this so at least the mental suffering that is yet to come will have an upside to it, if that’s at all possible.

Scotty, thank you. The car is in the shop, the rental only cost me $20/day and the auto body guy ate my deductible and is handling the insurance thing for me. So, I guess that silver lining has shown itself. Should have the car back mid-week, but I’m really liking the brand new Dodge Journey SUV I’m renting! I think my next car will be a Honda CRV. The gas won’t be an issue then cause I’ll be retired. Gosh I cannot wait for that!!

I am so sorry about your accident! I had 2 jerks pull out in front of me on our first day of bad snow! What are they thinking? And one was in the exact spot where someone pulled out in front of me a few years ago and totaled my car and sent me to the hospital in an ambulance – my back still occasionally gives me problems. I keep asking “What? Am I invisible???!!!” Been there, so I know some of how you feel and am sending many, many positive thoughts your way. See you back at atcsforall!
